On The Way to the Monkey Trail

Wednesday, June 29th, 2011

The Royal Poincianas are blooming in South Florida….which reminds me of this scene, from late May of last year in Guanacaste, Costsa Rica.  We were on our way to the “monkey trail”….a mountain road atop of which was a Zip Line attraction.

Cattleya Bactia

White Dendrobium

Alas, the rainy season STILL hasn’t started.  I’m getting worried, I have a theory that late rainy season equals active Hurricane Season.

Laugh Out Loud Funny

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011

We got an e-mail from B’ster’s pal John, who is a rough and tumble kind of guy (he of the Cheerleaders in Baseball post I stole from him a while back and posted here)….so I am once again stealing his line(s) and photo and posting them here.

The photo is a warning to you….Never EVER say the following sentence to your 5 year old granddaughter:  “Sure!  You can be my personal stylist for the evening.  Go for it.”  THIS could be what happens!

I Have No Idea How to Caption This Photo

Tell me you didn’t laugh!

Pizza Party

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

I’m finally getting the hang of this.  B’ster bought me a “pizza peel”….between the peel and parchment paper…it makes the pizza delivery and removal from the incredibly hot stone a no brainer.

From the Cajun ~ Orange Sherbet

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

Orange Sherbet

Five 12 oz cans of shasta or fanta orange soda (they have the highest carbonate content)
One 14 oz can of condensed milk (Eagle Brand, not the low-fat kind)
One 6 oz can of concentrated orange or grapefruit juice
Put all the ingredients directly into the cannister gently,  make sure the cannister is no more than 2/3 full because it will swell, hence only 5 cans of soda.  Process per your ice cream machine instructions.

Thanks, Cajun!
