I am more than ready….the Olympics are okay (would be much better if the live stream actually worked and didn’t look like a really bad silent movie).

The Antidote to “Clueless”

Tuesday, July 24th, 2012

Okay, it’s a Scott Brown ad (squishy RINO, but preferable to the faux-Pocahontas).    The first two minutes of the video, however, are positively brilliant….and use the actual words of many democrat heroes, as well as the great Ronald Reagan.

Enjoy!  And a h/t to the unknown NewsBuster who first posted this video.

Totally Clueless

“If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that”

Excuse me, Mr. Obama, your inner Marxist is showing.  Bloody Hell!!!!

I’ve read a couple of great rebuttals, and my friend Kev wrote a fabulous one, where he fisked Obama’s off-prompter, pro-government whine:

“There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me... [No there is not] ..— because they want to give something back...[I give back in my own way and in my own time] They know they didn’t — look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. [LIAR, no loans from no one, EVER] You didn’t get there on your own...[YES I DID].. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart [YEA MAYBE HOW ABOUT TAKING CHANCES AND RISK?!!.] There are a lot of smart people out there. [SMART DON’T EQUAL MONEY]  It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help [LIAR]. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life, [ALL MY PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS SUCKED, EVERY SINGLE ONE]   Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. [YOU ARE KILLING IT]  Somebody invested in roads and bridges. [YEA ME WITH MY TAXES] If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that...[LIAR].. Somebody else made that happen….” [LIAR]

Paul Ryan also had some choice things to say.  Including:

His comments seem to derive from a naive vision of a government-centered society and a government-directed economy. It stems from an idea that the nucleus of society and the economy is government not the people. … It is antithetical to the American idea. We believe in free communities, and this is a statist attack on free communities. … As all of his big government spending programs fail to restore jobs and growth, he seems to be retreating into a statist vision of government direction and control of a free society that looks backward to the failed ideologies of the 20th century.

Go read the whole thing, I assure you, it’s well worth your time.  I ♥ Paul Ryan.

As I was pondering Obama’s idiotic and clueless rant, I came across a great photo-essay at the UK Daily Mail, of New York City in the early 1900’s.  In looking at the photos, one can just see the hustle and bustle of entrepreneurship going on.  Compare and contrast to Obama’s basic sentiment that nothing is possible without government involvement.

5th Avenue, in Turn-of-the-Century New York

I suppose Barack Obama is just too busy working on jobs campaigning (4 days this week) to convene his very own Council on Jobs again.  It’s been six months since Mr. Jobs, Jobs, Jobs (O’Bite-Me’s 3 letter word) and this bi-partisan group of business leaders has met.  But hey, at least Obama has his priorities straight, getting re-elected, so that he can have four more years of squashing the private sector whilst growing the oh-so-efficient government.

Now, if we could just have a few more attacks on Anne Romney’s horse, my life would be complete.

[Edit]  Here’s the ultimate refutation of Obama’s “You Didn’t Build That” speech.

A Relative….Sort Of

Sunday, July 1st, 2012

My internet Avatar is a beautiful orange & blue lizard, which represents a couple of things.  Of course, my school colors…the Orange & Blue of UF.  And my fascination with iguanas and lizards, I find them endlessly amusing.  And, last but certainly not least, a huge nod to the Iguana Man.

I found this relative of my Avatar lizard on the UK Daily Mail:

The “Spiderman” Lizard

Beautiful, don’t you think?
