Anne all the way, baby!!!!

Chefs Robert Irvine & Anne Burrell from Food Network

My girl Anne is going to clean his clock for him, again.  I fully expect Anne to be in the Final (and win!) and Robert Irvine to be close in the running, due to his experience under pressure on his Dinner:Impossible series.  I don’t know very much about a couple of this crop of chefs, Chuck Hughes and Elizabeth Falkner (apparently a pastry chef who has migrated to savory)…but I expect to see Alex Guarnaschelli, Marcus Samuelsson, and Jeffrey Zacharian (of Chopped fame) exit early, along with Beau MacMillan (another of Anne’s unsuccessful foes on Worst Cook in America and Chopped).   IMO, the judges on Chopped, w/the exception of Aaron Sanchez, can talk the talk, but not walk the walk.  I expect Spike Mendelsohn and Michael Chiarello to stick around for a while, as I’ve seen both cook competitively, and they both have interesting culinary POV’s.

Cooking reality TV is my guilty pleasure.  Even the perennially awful Next Network Food Star hooked me (Susie the adorable Mexican chef got hosed, I’ll never watch the Sandwich King….sheesh, if you can’t make a sandwich just stop breathing already, I don’t care how “funny” the host supposedly is!).

Anne is going to rock it out, beginning October 30th.  My foodie pal Shanon will be back by then, so we have some great reality TV in front of us….except this time I think we’re going to cook Sunday afternoons to get in the proper mood for the evening’s competition.
